Comments, again.
Besides the recent one, questions I’ve gotten have been either not shared because they were weird…or full of words my “g-pa” didn’t need to read (Carl). Now you can click on the time-stamp on each individual post and go to a page where you can comment, question, ridicule, etc.

Anonymous asked: Is this Google Earth thing really the place where you last lived in Wilmore and where we play basketball on the drive with "'Banks" and others? Pretty amazing. You will have to show me how this works soon. .... G'pa

– My Take: Stop sugarcoating the Bible – CNN Belief Blog For the most part, I support this sentiment. Recognizing the struggles of our Biblical heroes is a good move. The problem I have though is that this concludes with another argument to push back against the dreaded Religion and ritual. Men much...

thatcrazystupidlove: Beyonce & Jay-Z | baby Blue Ivy gets some special visitors (Saturday Night Live) Hard to pick a favorite here…Jay-Z, Taylor, Bon Iver, Brangelina. Again, good show. Plus…Sleigh Bells, who I give credit to for making a non-tv friendly music style actually work ok. Oh and for all the girls who love me from afar and are reading this…I dig the tattoos.

The Jeremy Lin Problem - NYTimes.com →
Sorry, Mr. Brooks, this one isn’t doing it for me.  Being a competitive and even dominating athlete in your particular field doesn’t seem to me to be in real conflict with faith. Recognizing, or even lying to yourself that you are the greatest athlete on the field does not also inherently require you to think you are the greatest person on the field as well. Not buying it sir.

WatchWatch
The only thing of value in this is watching both Derick and Alexis try really hard not to smile, from nerves I’m assuming. Derick actually is giggling when Maya moves attention to them at the end of the first. Might have a text book in my lap but I’m definitely watching tonight.

– Ira Glass, in response to Kurt Braunohler’s comment, “I do have a theory now. I do have a theory about if I do get married in the future. What I think I would want to do is have an agreement that at the end of seven years, we have to get remarried in order for the marriage to continue. But at the...

Right to Remain Silent | This American Life →
Listen to this (Part 2 at least). If I know you personally I will probably ask you whether you’ve listened to this before we talk, until you have. I noted on Twitter that my criminal law pals are probably familiar with this…but even as defense oriented as I am, I wasn’t ready for Act Two. Oh, and since a ton of cops (or wannabe cops…poel) read this blog you should check...

Birth of the Band →
I know I’ve linked to a “making of” on Sleigh Bells before but this is great and adds some other info. Love the band and its members. AND…for an unknown limited amount of time you can stream the new album from the link.

– Circuit Judge ILANA DIAMOND ROVNER with the greatest concurrence ever. Written to agree with the majority which decided that an upward departure (more years on the sentence) was proper in regard to a defendant who quite clearly did not care about the safety of others.

Marc Dreier: The Swindler  →
A depressing and incredible story about “the mini Madoff.” Watched this in my White Collar Crime class and was surprised by his honesty in the interview. It’s quite the story of the ability of a man working hard when you consider his conclusion regarding all the irons he had in the fire. Unbelievable and worth a watch.

Questions or Comments on Posts
I’m getting questions from people that are a mix of weird, unintelligible, and even flirty (admittedly only one). They’re anonymous and over all not interesting enough to share. Keep it up…but do better. Thanks. I’ll address/answer them if they’re good unless I think they’re all from my mother.

Hamilton's Relapse →
Rough situation for Hamilton but the tone of the article struck me more. The issue is only loosely baseball related and the author goes a lot further into it than how it relates to baseball.
